Sporting prowess at Christ Church Grammar School
Published on: 9 March 2016
At Christ Church, sport is a core part of our education where boys compete with each other and for each other. The School has enjoyed consistent success across the PSA codes, with many talented sportsmen competing for the School.
Recently, several of our hockey players, Tim Bourke, Makz Alexander, Locke Taddei (Year 10), along with Alex Rippey (Year 9) Oliver Higgins and Hugo Charlesworth (Year 8) were selected for the State Under 15 Hockey squad. The team will travel to Wollongong NSW between 9 and 17 April to compete at the National Championships.
“Each boy has made great progress, and the dedication they have shown to improving their skills over the last 12 months has been exceptional. For Oliver and Hugo to make the selection at the age of 13 is a fantastic achievement,” said Brendon Noble, Assistant Director of Sport.
The senior boys in the group, Tim, Makz and Locke, will have a busy schedule as they travel to Melbourne to represent Christ Church in the annual Melbourne Grammar School International Hockey Festival the week before the National Championships.
The boys will start training for another strong hockey season on Tuesday 29 March.
