The Christ Church surfing team had a very successful day at the Sunsmart WA School Surfing Titles at Leighton Beach last week. With 18 competitors in the team, Christ Church had representatives in the junior and senior surfing and bodyboarding teams.

Senior bodyboarders Mitch Yeo and Kenny Cunningham won their zone final, defeating a Scotch College team.

Senior surfers, Tom Giudice and Ollie Stewart were runners up in the zone final, coming second to John XXIII College.

The junior bodyboarding final was fought out between two Christ Church teams. Harry Cranswick and Sam Rifici won this final narrowly defeating Archie Reichstein and Oliver Welch.

As a result of our overall team effort, Christ Church were named Zone Champions for Zones 3 and 4. Mitch Yeo, Kenny Cunningham, Harry Cranswick, Sam Rifici, Archie Reichstein, Oliver Welch, Tom Giudice and Oliver Stewart will compete in the State Finals held at Trigg Beach on Friday 26 August.
