Embracing boarders for well over a century
Published on: 13 February 2020
Coming from a variety of international and regional locations including Wagin, Narrogin, Esperance, Karratha and Broome, boarders have become a significant part of our school’s history and rich diversity.
In total, the School is currently home to 93 boarders who reside across two residences on campus – Knutsford and the Walters Boarding House.
“It has been a brilliant start to the 2020 year,” says Director of the Residential Community, Mr Brad Downing.
“The boarding orientation and Friends of Walters welcome back drinks last weekend were wonderful occasions where boys, staff and families were able to reconnect and new families were welcomed into the community.”
“With 26 new boys joining us, there have been moments when a few boys have been a little shaky, but they all have one week under their belt and will gain confidence quickly.”
“Boys also got to experience their first PSA fixture for the year, with games against Wesley. It was a very successful start, with the majority of teams recording a win!”
Each year Christ Church offers a number of scholarships for boys living in regional or remote areas. If you know someone entering Senior School and who may benefit from a Christ Church education, please encourage them to visit scholarships.ccgs.wa.edu.au for more details.
Information on the School’s regional visits for 2020 can be found on our website, including our upcoming visits to Albany (26 February) and Margaret River (27 February). Please feel free to share the event details with anyone you know who would be interested in attending.
