This morning, the entire school gathered to celebrate Christ Church Grammar School’s 115th birthday. Reflecting on the School’s rich history is a meaningful experience for students and staff, reinforcing a strong sense of pride and belonging within our community. Over the years, Christ Church has remained committed to educational excellence, fostering an environment where both academic and personal growth thrive.

The day began with a Service of Rededication at Christ Church Claremont. The service included prayers, readings, and the cherished tradition of lighting the Torch of Learning. This tradition is directly linked to our school motto, “God is our leader, learning is our light.” It reminds us that learning continues to guide us, supporting the values that define our school’s mission and vision.

Father Peter Boyland, Captain of School William Lewis, Preparatory School Captain James Philip, Reverend Nicholas Russell, and The Right Reverend Hans Christiansen participated in the service. After the Torch of Learning was lit and prayers of thanksgiving offered, the School Prefects, special guests, and official party walked across Queenslea Drive to the Blue Gym. There, the rest of the School community had gathered to continue the celebrations.

Our guest speaker, The Right Reverend Hans Christiansen, shared reflections on the long-standing relationship between the School and the Anglican Church. Bishop Hans, the Bishop for Schools in Perth, has a deep passion for education. Before moving to Western Australia, he worked as a teacher and school chaplain.

The School also honoured staff members who have dedicated 15, 20, and 25 years of service. We celebrated and recognised their unwavering commitment and valuable contributions to the school community. A list of these valued staff members can be found here.
