Medical Coordinator of Global Hand Charity, Mrs Reggie Lau recently took sunglasses and spectacles donated by Christ Church parents to community centres and remote schools to carry out the eye care program run by Global Hands.
“We do mass screening of kids, as well as self-presenting adults and elderly who have problems with their eye sight. It is a win-win situation, Mrs Lau said. “Through the program, many people are able to resume their activity of daily living and vision-impaired children can study better with the aid of the glasses.”
Mrs Lau thanked the Christ Church community and Uniform Shop staff for the donations that help improve the lives of people in the developing countries like Laos.
Global Hand was founded by Year 12 parent Dr Rachel Sheffield and works in disadvantaged communities in Laos.
