The Senior House Swimming Carnival took place last Friday with Wolsey House claiming victory. This year’s carnival was modified to a relay-only format, with Houses racing across the 25m Water Polo Pool. This format included 4 x 25 Freestyle, 10 x 25 Freestyle, 4 x 50 Freestyle, 4 x 50 Medley and was held in Divisions from A to D.

Despite the School having to move the carnival from HBF Stadium to the School’s Aquatic Precinct, the event was a remarkable success with the smaller venue generating an exciting atmosphere and 90% of all boys participating in at least one race.

Wolsey House took out 1st place with a total of 416 points, followed by Romsey with 380 and Moyes with 358.

The annual inclusive race was also a big hit during the swimming carnival. The inclusive race is a great opportunity for our PMC boys to get in the pool, have a go and contribute to their House. In a highlight of the day, the entire school stopped to cheer on all the boys during the race.

Three Year 12 boys; Thomas Andrews, Ben Shields and Ben Rock all swam their last ever race at the School.

Teacher in Charge of Aquatics, Luke Farmer spoke about the quality of the team, “The team has been picked and are very excited at the opportunity to swim some fast times against strong competition.”

The PSA Inters Carnival will take place this evening commencing 5.15pm and can be streamed via this link.
