After 11 days of immersive outdoor adventure in Western Australia’s south west, Year 10 students are returning today from their successful Venture expedition. Alongside teachers and outdoor specialists, the groups traversed over 200 kilometres of rugged terrain, journeying from Walpole to Denmark.

The weather was largely favourable, with light drizzle and overcast skies most days providing ideal conditions for hiking. Each day, the groups embarked on 20 to 25 kilometre treks, starting at 7.30am to reach their designated campsites by evening.

Along the way, students travelled through the beautiful D’Entrecasteaux and Walpole-Nornalup National Parks and participated in activities such as fishing and rafting. They also played a vital role in environmental conservation by collecting plastic waste from remote beaches.

Neil Saggers, Director of Activities, commended the students on their commitment and resilience throughout the expedition. “Venture offered our students a unique opportunity to challenge themselves, collaborate as a team, and deepen their connection with nature.”
