Year 6 boys promote positive behaviour

Last week our Year 6 boys were creative in promoting the Preparatory School’s School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program.
At the first Preparatory School Assembly for 2021 the Year 6 boys performed a series of mini role-plays and presentations using the green screen in the innovation space that highlighted each of the School’s values and how to display them around the school.
“The SWPBS approach is based on the belief that relationships are the foundation for social and academic achievement,” says Deputy Head (Pastoral) of Preparatory School, Ms Kim Morcom.
“It encompasses values including; Care and Compassion, Respect, Responsibility and Understanding, Inclusion, and wonderfully complements the School’s Code of Conduct, Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program, Pastoral care model, fortnightly Health and Wellbeing classes, Religious education and Vertical House Groups (VHG).”
In further support of School Wide Positive Behaviour program, the Year 6 boys have started their service program, in which they act as mentors in the playground at lunchtimes. The boys were provided with a training session that taught them how to help younger boys in the School, and each fortnight the boys will put on their high-vis vests and go into the playground to interact with the younger boys.
