Earlier this week, the Preparatory School hosted its eagerly awaited Swimming Carnival, a day filled with friendly competition and House spirit. The event, which began with the Early Learning Community (ELC), saw students compete in a series of races. Thanks to the incredible support of our Year 6 helpers in the water, it was truly inspiring to witness the ELC students give their best in the pool.

One of the day’s most memorable moments came from Year 6 swimmer Theo Porter, who broke the Year 6 Butterfly record with an impressive time of 32.39 seconds. After an afternoon of exhilarating races, it was Yonga who emerged as the overall champion.

Final Results:

  • 1st – Yonga
  • 2nd – Kearla
  • 3rd – Wardung
  • 4th – Karda

Individual Champions:

  • Year 3 Champion Boy – Benjamin Spehr
  • Year 3 Runner-Up – George Hartman
  • Year 4 Champion Boy – Yumo Lu
  • Year 4 Runner-Up – Sam Etheridge
  • Year 5 Champion Boy – Henry Stone
  • Year 5 Runner-Up – James Chang
  • Year 6 Champion Boy – Theo Porter

The day’s success was not just measured in times and placings but in the remarkable sportsmanship and effort displayed by every student. From the youngest competitors in the Early Learning Community to the seasoned competitors in Year 6, all students embraced the true spirit of the carnival, cheering each other on and celebrating their collective achievements.

A special thank you goes to the staff who made the event possible, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable day for all. Well done to all participants, and congratulations to the champions of the day.
