Class of 1993_web

On Friday 20 December, 73 old boys from the Class of 1993 came together at the Claremont Hotel to celebrate their 20 Year Reunion. The strong turnout, a near record for a year group reunion, was achieved with a large contingent flying in specially for the event from various locations in Australia and overseas, including a few last minute arrivals from Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands. The occasion started with an afternoon tour of the School, with Headmaster Garth Wynne leading a small group of old boys on a nostalgic trip back to a place which played such a big part in their lives but which some had not seen for 20 years. So much had changed, yet still, so much was exactly the same. As the evening got underway many agreed that the name badges were a good idea with the passage of time not aiding the memory yet very much aiding some of the stories being retold. A great night was had by all with some kicking on to the early hours.

The following day saw a family-friendly ‘recovery’ barbecue held at the Mt Claremont Playing Fields and attended by a small gathering of old boys, partners and quite a number of young children. The perfect weather and the bouncy castle made the afternoon a hit with everyone. Special thanks to Tom Nattrass, Tim Wall, Jon Bowker, Ben Hammond and David Greig for organising such a successful reunion weekend.
