Alan Jones welcome

At the beginning of the year Christ Church welcomed Alan Jones, newly appointed principal and 12th head of the school.
Alan has wasted no time in immersing himself into the community. From a ride in a tinny with the rowers, to lunch with the ‘Unflappables’, a cadets parade, catching up with families down south, inspecting all playing fields to having a kick of the footy with the boys on the oval.
Alan comes to Christ Church from The Hutchins School in Hobart, and before that he taught at two prestigious schools in Melbourne, Victoria. When asked about his thoughts on the significance of an Old Boys’ Association Alan said: “Schools such as Christ Church are founded on tradition and history. There is no better way to instil and share history than through stories and that is what our old boys do best, they tell stories. It is these stories that the younger boys will share with their friends and so on, and in this way the school’s history lives on.”
