Tony Jones (1962) recently retired from lecturing at TAFE after a lifetime teaching sculpture on top of running his own successful practice from his studio in O’Connor. Tony was decorated (awarded OAM in 2009) for his services to education and the arts and is most famous as being the creator of ‘Eliza’ everyone’s favourite sculpture in the Swan River at Matilda Bay. Asked what he would do now he was not teaching Tony said, “I will spend more time in the studio. We have some seriously large public art projects at the moment.” It doesn’t sound like Tony will be putting his feet up just yet. To read the full interview click here.
