William Parkinson (1980) studied Zoology at UWA before working on fish farms, firstly for Wester Ross Salmon in Scotland and then for Marine Industries at Pemberton. With his father Stanley, he investigated farming Western Australian Dhufish, but without success, as their captive fish kept dying from the eye disease, exophthalmia. In 1989, William was employed as a technician in the School of Biology, Curtin University and has been working there ever since. William is married with two children, Emily and Alistair, a current Year 8 student at Christ Church. An avid snorkeller, William has taken photographs of a variety of marine life at Cottesloe beach. Arranged and set to music by his son Alistair, you can see the video here.
