Ronald FellRon Fell (teacher 1960-65) migrated from England to teach humanities and English. Ron was coach of the First XV throughout this time and is pictured in the Mitre each year with his team. During his time at CCGS Ron was invited to play in the Western Australian rugby team, unfortunately however for Ron, Alan Blackwood would not allow him time off to participate in a state rugby tour. Ron went back to England at the end of 1965 and his first visit back to Australia, on tour to Perth, Alice Springs, Cairns and Melbourne, was in October this year. During a visit to the School for a tour with Andrew Baird he presented the Headmaster with a new trophy, ‘the Ron Fell Trophy for most improved rugby player’ and in response Garth gave Ron a copy of the School history. Ron is pictured with his wife Carol, teacher in charge of rugby Chris Miles and coach of the First XV Tom Jerram.
